People That they may be faithful ministers of your Word and Sacraments.

Litanist We pray for all who find community at Good Shepherd. Grant us grace to do your will in all that we undertake;

People That our works may find favor in your sight.

Litanist We pray for the victims of unjust police violence and for repair, understanding, and healing in our community and across the nation. We pray for Donald, our President; Eric, our Governor; Tony and John, our mayors; those running for elected office; and all those who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world;

People That there may be justice and peace on the earth.

Litanist We remember those who suffer from any grief or distress, those commended to our prayers including Robert Schoenhals, Pat Annis, Jack & Leta Kelley, Dee & Charlie Tritschler, Carol, Heidi, Cricket, Sarah, Tammy, Maddie, Linas, Jill, Karen, Becky, Leslie, Will, Vanessa; and those we name now either silently or aloud…. Have compassion on those who suffer from any grief or trouble.

People That they may be delivered from their distress.

Litanist We pray for the safety of all those who serve and protect this nation and our communities. Give them courage in harm’s way and hope for the days ahead.

People That they may find strength and faith.

Litanist We offer thanksgivings for all the blessings of this life and for those blessings we name now either silently or aloud…. Give us thankful hearts and minds, O God;

People And sustain us with your Holy Spirit.

Litanist We remember those who have died, including Daniel, those who have died from COVID-19, and those we name now either silently or aloud…. Give to the departed eternal rest, O Lord.

People And let light perpetual shine upon them.

Silence

Presider: O Lord our God, accept the fervent prayers of your people; in the multitude of your mercies, look with compassion upon us and all who turn to you for help; for you are gracious, O lover of souls, and to you we give glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.

The Confession

Presider: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Silence may be kept.

All: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

The Priest, stands and says

Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.

People: It is right to give God thanks and praise.

The Presider continues

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth…Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:

Presider and People

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

The Presider continues

Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself….Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith:

Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father, in this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving….All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ. By him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever. AMEN.

And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to say,

People and Presider

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.

The Breaking of the Bread

Presider: Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us;

People: Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia.

Please remain by your seat. The presider will bring you bread and when the presider has distributed the bread to everyone, we will receive it together.
