Chapel of the Good Shepherd
The Episcopal Church at Purdue University
Community
Our organization operates as a church and as a campus ministry, and our vestry is comprised of both students and non-students. This participation at the leadership level by students translates into ministry programming that is directed, as well as led, by the students themselves.

Lafayette Urban Ministry Shelter Meal
Our congregation helps at the Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM) homeless shelter once a month by preparing the shelter’s evening meal. We always are scheduled to do this on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Contact Mark Thomas in the church office (765) 743-1347 or sheep@goodshep.org to volunteer.

Lafayette Urban Ministry Shelter Night Service
Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM), which is located at 525 N. Fourth St. in Lafayette, always needs people to volunteer to spend the night helping at the shelter (one training session required) and LUM has a variety of other volunteer opportunities available. For more information, contact LUM at (765) 423-2691.

Science & Religion Dialogue

Also known as "Adult Non-Sunday School." This is a very informal group; there are no quizzes! :) We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month (except during breaks in the Purdue schedule) at 7:00 p.m.

Our current book is Finding Darwin's God: A Scientist's Search for Common Ground Between God and Evolution, by Kenneth Miller. We'll discuss the first half of the Miller book (through chapter 5) on Wednesday, October 24, 7:00 p.m., at the church.

A copy of the book is available for borrowing from the church office. Buy a copy of the book—or any of the books we've read—from Amazon.com through our Website, and we make a few pennies. Just click on the Amazon.com logo on the right-hand side of this page. Please note: At present, clicking on the book titles to purchase them through Amazon.com may not be credited to Good Shepherd's account. We're making repairs to this part of the website to make sure the links are working correctly. For now, please click on the Amazon.com logo at right to search for/purchase books and credit Good Shepherd's account.

Watch this space for announcements of future books in the series!
